- 4. APACHE ENGINE AH-64 APACHE • Turbo shaft jet engines are used. • Principle-"suck, squeeze, burn and blow”. • Power is transferred from the engine using a main gearbox
- 5. WORKING AH-64 APACHE • Slight angle of attack given to shaft and spins the shaft. • Power is transmitted from engine to rotor by gearbox • Tail rotor produces thrust. • Sideways thrust resists engine’s desire to spin the body.
