Sleep Chronotypes
• Dolphin (~10-15%)
Typically wake from sleep unrested
struggle with napping and are often
tired through the day with a spurt of
energy in the evening
• Bear (~50-55%)
Tend to follow a typical night / day
schedule and sleep well, though it
may take them longer to get going in
the morning
• Lion (~10-20%)
Get up early with plenty of energy
and are sharpest in the morning
• Wolf (~15-20%)
Essentially night owls, tend to be
most active and alert in the early
evening hours and are somewhat out
of sync with societies typical
patterns.

Pre-event Mindset
• Why am I going to this?
• Who do I hope to meet?
• What do I hope to achieve?
• What’s my minimum contact time?
Exercise!
• 10 mins
• Introduce yourself
• What do you think about these concepts (sleep chronotypes, power
pose, mindset)?
At-Event
Be Interested, Not Interesting
• Listen for the story from the other not to find the moment to share
your story
• Our villains:
Unlocking the keys to deep listening at work - ABC listen
Listening Villains - Oscar Trimboli | Deep Listening: Impact Beyond Words
Dramatic
“Rather than helping the speaker progress, you get
stuck in the detail and dissecting the historical events
and patterns that have led you to the discussion”
Interrupting
“You’re so focused on finding a solution to the problem
that you finish the speaker’s sentences for them. You
are busy solving problems the speaker hasn’t yet
verbalised.”
Lost
“You are so absorbed with your self-talk you don’t
create enough space for the dialogue to land in your
mind, you are so busy thinking about your last thought
or your next thought that you can’t focus on the
discussion.”
Shrewd
“You’re too busy trying to solve the issue before
listening to the explanation. You have forgotten to be
present and to listen completely.”
Right eye to Left eye contact

Opportunity or threat

Time: 18:00 - 21:00
Venue: ISH Venues London - The
Portland Room 1 Park Crescent,
London, City of, W1B 1SH, United

In this session, we will look at some of the risks facing all
organisations, regardless of size or sector, and consider how they may
impact the organisation and its stakeholders. From emerging risks
found in new technologies such as AI to complex risks in supply chains
and the now ‘every day’ risks such as cybercrime, we will discuss how
each of these presents both threat and opportunity, identify
mitigation techniques and understand how each may need to be
considered in projects. We’ll close the session by looking at the
technique of ‘horizon scanning’ and why looking ahead is important.
