The United States has joined with Australia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea to form a new Asia-Pacific partnership focused on clean development, energy security, and climate change. This partnership will allow these nations to more quickly develop and deploy cleaner, more efficient energy technologies to address issues of pollution reduction, energy security, and climate change while also reducing poverty and promoting economic growth. The US Secretary of State and Secretary of Energy will meet with their counterparts in these countries in the fall to advance this new partnership and provide guidance for their collaborative efforts.
