- 2. Tool: Knovio • Content: o Presentation of the App and its logo. This an app is developed by Cambridge English. It is based on Empower Program of Cambridge University. This is an easy and funny app in which the student can get acquire language by playing with people all over the world. The user can practice vocabulary and grammar and it covers a wide option of topics that the students can choose and practice the language. In addition, the app offers many levels of proficiency that the users can practice. Moreover, it helps for international test such as First Certificate of Cambridge, English level B1, Cambridge PET, IELTS test, and others. Finally, the students can compare nationally and globally. o Description and features (include requirements, main features, how to download it/set it up/install it, devices to run, etc). - 3. How to download: 1. Go to Google store and type Quiz your English. 2. Tap install so wait until the app the installation is completed. How to set it up: 1. You can sing up with Facebook or Gmail. Choose one of them. How install it: 1. The installation is available at Google Store. Devices to run: 1. Android OS. 2. iOS. o Functioning and operability. How to download it, set it up and install it (step by step). 1. Be sure, you have a stable Internet connection. 2. Go to Google Store and type Quiz your English. 3. Tap on install and wait that the system makes its job. 4. Wait the app while the it is installing. 5. Tap on open bottom. 6. Read the start messages and tap get started. 7. sign up with Facebook or Gmail.
- 4. 8. In this case, I am going to sign up with gmail. 9. Choose the gmail account • Access or Start (main screen, etc). In the main screen, you are going to find two main options play, challenge and invite friends. In the first one, you are going to have to chance to play any international student. Challenge, you are able to challenge the student of your preference and search them. Finally, invite friends, you can invite friends from different social networks that may be interested to improve the language. • Sections or operating and functional components of the app (describe what and how it works; in other words, the details of its main functions, what scenarios it exemplifies, if it has a help option, etc.) In the first section, the user can find your performance in which the student can check the achievements, results and challenges. In the first one, you can see the different awards as soon as you advance through the different categories and earn coins. In the results, you can see the latest games that you have and show you which one you win. The last one, it is going to show to the user the challenges that he has had through the time. The second section, it is the topics that the app has available to practice and the last section, you are going to find the ranking overall. In this part, the ranking is divided in the different categories that the app has. o Users or target population:

According to the developers the app is for “…anyone who wants to practice their English.” I totally agree, this app can be used by anyone who has interested in improve and learn their English; however, it is not possible to have a certainty that you are going to have the same questions when you have to practice with the students because the exercise are automatically random. Even though, the instructor and/or teacher can practice a specific topic and use it as a warm-up activity. o Utility in the work place I think it is going to be very useful for those who has certain level of proficiency, however, the students can experience the level of proficiency that they have through interactive practices. Many of the topics that the teacher can find in the app are very functional because many of the topics can be find in the official syllabus and it shows the real level that the students have to have at the moment to use it. o Advantages and disadvantages Advantages Disadvantages 1. Gives you a statistic of your progress. 2. You can practice with international students. 1. For more features you have to pay. 2. If you do not have Facebook or Gmail account you do not have access to it. o Example of one implementation activity: You can refer to specific areas of the curriculum
- 6. or to your own perspective based on your experience and educational background. Please provide a detailed description of what you would implement and how you would do it. I would implement it when the students are studying for examples social network or technology topic as a warm up about the topic. Then, the students will have some comments about the questions and vocabulary that they find in the game. In addition, according to some statements, it could take in order to solve a situation that they may be involved in the real life. In addition, I would implement it as a way to teach some expressions that they could use in real conversation as a part of their training in the language. The app is going to let the students to have an approaching to the real language and not only with fake circumstances that it would not happen in the daily life. o Conclusions and references. As a conclusion, Quiz your English is going to let the user to have a competitive way to improve their grammar and reading knowledge about the language. In addition, it is going to have a real contact from others students all over the world and it is going to show the statistic about your progress so, as soon as you are advancing you are collecting different awards. The use of the technology is a great tool in which the person is going to become as extra mile of learning a language; also, it is going to help the person to become self-study person in which the main responsibility is the student and not only the teacher. Quiz Your English, I highly recommended because it is according to international programs. In this case the app is done by Cambridge University based on Empowerment Syllabus. It is recommended for preparing people that needs an international certification.
