Unit 7 Using Database Software

  Using Microsoft Access to create a
   database solution to a problem
  Start in February 2011
  Examined in a practical exam – 10
   hours!
  Don’t worry about this now.
Unit 8 Managing ICT Projects
    Coursework unit
    Shows how you managed a large project
        Analysing the customer’s needs
        Writing a specification
        Planning the making of the product
        Working with the customer as you make the
         product
        Evaluating the product and the way you worked
    To be completed by February half term 2011
Unit 10 Using Multimedia Software

    Coursework unit
    Making a multimedia product which meets a
     specific need
    Software used:
        Graphics – Gimp, Fireworks
        Audio – Audacity
        Animation – Flash
    Task will be to make a useful resource for a
     school curriculum area – lots of scope
    This will be the product managed for Unit 8 so
     both units work together – both completed by
     February half term 2011
Time Plan
    June/July 2010 Learning how to use software
    July 2010 Decide on project – investigate and
     prepare proposal
    September 2010 Start project
    February half term 2011 Hand in coursework
    February – May 2011 Database training
    April 2011 Exam pre-release comes out
    May 2011 Unit 7 exam – 4 × 2½ sessions
