The document describes a mobile biometrics system called aProbe. It has a native iOS mobile client application that can access video and process images. It also has a cross-platform server application built with HTML, JavaScript, NodeJS, and Socket.io that can write data to files. The client and server communicate via an HTML5/JavaScript webview in the mobile app. The system can measure heart rate and display pulse wave visualizations in real-time. It was evaluated against a Biopac device and showed comparable heart rate measurements on an iPhone 4.
