- 7. Building science studies the interaction of all the building systems with architectural design and we need it because: • It tells us how buildings actually work • It tells us how to design them, build them, diagnose them, fix them and operate them.

Responsibility of architects concerning Building science Since architects are the creator of buildings, they need to • consider each and every building systems while designing. • communicate with other building system professionals during design and construction phase of buildings. • to do so, they should have the knowledge of building system sciences.
- 9. Control of the external environmental impact on building • The internal factors include indoor temperature, humidity, air quality, and noise, whereas the external factors are metrological, air pollution, noise, and soil moisture.

Integrated Building design approach Integrated design :- • Design of a building which considers whole building design including architectural, structural engineering, passive solar building design and HVAC. • The approach may also integrate building lifecycle management and a greater consideration of the end users of the building. • The aim of integrated building design is often to produce sustainable architecture.
