The first image I want to share is of Russian Architecture. It’s of the St. Basils Cathedral Domes in Moscow, Russia constructed in July 1561. Originally being all white they later added color from 1680-1848 to resemble a Heavenly City from the Book of Revelations. One of the Many amazing architectures of the world!
The next image is The Great Wall of China. It measures over 5,500 miles long and it was built in the fifth century BC and later finished in the Sixteenth century AD for defensive purposes. 300,000 soldiers and 500,000 common people helped build the ancient structure. You can see the many years of hard work in the wall.
Another Amazing structure would be The Great Pyramids of Giza. The purpose of the Pyramids are a burial sight for Kings Khufu (Largest Pyramid), Khafre (Khufu’s son) and Menkaure (Khufu’s grandson). Just by looking at theses structure you could see how a King or Pharaoh ruled and how Powerful they were. All three Pyramids were estimated to be built between 2550-2490 BC. By slaves and through forced labor. The Pyramids angled sides represent the rays of the sun to help the kings should go to heaven and join their gods.
What you see in this next image is the Hall Of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. It was constructed in 1678-1684. There are many historic events that happened at the Hall of Mirrors, one being that King Lois XV and Louis XVI used the Hall of Mirrors for marriages, parties, births. It is where the famous Jeanne-Antoinette met Louis XV and became his mistress. This is also where the Treaty of Versailles was signed ending World War 1.
This is the Colosseumof Rome. Its also know as the amphitheater. It was built in 70-72 AD as a gift to the Roman people. Later Titus opened it in 80 AD as an arena where Animals were hunted, the condemned were executed, and gladiators would fight to the death. The Colosseumbecame know as the arena of death. The Colosseumcontinued on for four and a half centuries. The last Gladiator fight was in 404 AD and Animal hunt in 523 AD.
The last Place I’d like to share is the I’olaniPalace in Honolulu, HI. This is the only royal Palace in the United States. The only two Monarchs to govern from the palace was King Kalakauaand Queen Lili’uokalani. It was during the queens monarch that everything was overthrown in 1893 when the United States took ownership of Hawaii. She was imprisoned for nine months in a small room within the palace. This is also where she created the famous song “Aloha oi.”
Art in Architecture
There is so much art in the historic buildings that we see around the world. I will always continue to look and learn about many historic places I see and go to. The emotions, detail, and historic memories these structures carry will continue to captivate my mind.
