WHAT IS AI?
The simulation of human intelligence in robots that
are designed to think and learn like humans is
known as artificial intelligence, or AI. This covers
operations like language translation, decision-
making, problem-solving, and speech recognition.
Artificial intelligence (AI) programs examine data,
spot trends, and draw conclusions or forecasts from
that study.
TYPES
OF
AI
Narrow AI (Weak AI)
Narrow AI, also known as weak AI, is
designed to perform specific tasks or
solve particular problems. These systems
are highly specialized and excel at a single
task or a narrow range of tasks.
Autonomous cars, streaming platform
recommendation algorithms, and virtual
personal assistants like Siri and Alexa are
a few examples.
General AI (Strong AI)
General AI, also referred to as strong AI, is the
hypothetical concept of an AI system that
possesses the ability to understand, learn, and
apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks—
much like a human being. General AI would
have cognitive abilities comparable to humans
and could perform any intellectual task that a
human can do. However, true general AI has not
yet been achieved and remains a subject of
ongoing research and speculation
Artificial Superintelligence
(ASI)
An even more sophisticated type of AI that
outperforms human intelligence in every way. ASI
would possess cognitive abilities far beyond
those of humans and could potentially solve
complex problems, make groundbreaking
discoveries, and advance technology at an
unprecedented rate. The development of ASI is
purely theoretical at this point, and its
implications, both positive and negative, are the
subject of much debate and speculation within
the scientific community.
