- 2. Insert Article The first step to create a new article is to click the Insert an Article link from the toolbar which is found on the left hand side of the Home Page
- 3. Create Article Next type in the name of the article you would like to create in the box provided and click Create Article . For this example we will call this article AskDrWiki Sample Article
- 4. Enter Text You will now see a blank page and you can start entering text. You can use the toolbar on top of the article page to help format your article or you can use Wikitext which we will teach you.

Learning Wikitext This is by far the biggest obstacle that prevents users from contributing to wikis Wikis are similar to Microsoft Word except if you want to Create Headings Bold and Italicize Text Create Numbered or Bulleted Lists Create Links to other pages in the wiki It is easy to learn and we will give you a cheat sheet at the end of the tutorial that you should keep next to your computer to help you write your first article.
