This document provides guidance for conducting individual reading assessments of students requiring additional support. It outlines a process for assessing reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension, and specific skills. The assessment is intended to inform individualized literacy programming by identifying students' instructional reading levels and specific needs. Teachers are directed to use assessment data from NAPLAN and other sources, select leveled texts, and evaluate accuracy, fluency and comprehension. Record keeping forms are included to document the assessment results and guide subsequent instruction targeting each student's requirements.
