  These 3 principles help to focus on:
  • how learner picks up information
  • how they express themselves
  • how they are engaged by a learning situation
4 Components in Curriculum

        How to make if universally designed:
      1. translate standards to make them meaningful
                             in class
              2. keep useful materials in classroom
             3. find methods to help students learn
      4. find best means of assessment (how we make
                      sure learning occurs)
Why use it?
 UDL is designed for
  all types of learners
 Reduces disabilities
   by allowing more
     students to be
        successful
  Fixed curriculum
       nowadays is
       designed for
  certain students 
    UDL benefits all
         students

     Allows students to demonstrate their knowledge in
      a more meaningful way (not just reading about it)
     Puts all students on the same page
         They can all communicate and participate
     All students come out as expert learners
