- 2. Conventions Convention Use Develop Challenge Was there an inspiration from a real film? How? Story/plot -revenge, kidnapping X Taken and Enough • The main character gets revenge because of a kidnapping Character Girl Vulnerable, crazy X Sleeping with the Enemy • Eventually stand up to there fears but still scared. Narrative Structure -restricted, enigmas- puzzle the flashbacks to create the story X Taken • Non linear- there is flashbacks • The flashbacks are in linear order Locations -dark abandoned corrupt settings (alleyway/canal) X Jack Reacher, Silent House • Climatic point- suburban areas • Interior settings- house for flashbacks Lighting - We don’t use low key lighting - We are using daylight which is natural lighting. X Momento, The Dark Knight • Natural lightening is used however in flashbacks the effect is different compared to a black and white setting.

Costumes/Props - weapons- knifes - Tracksuit bottoms - Messy hair X Transporter 2 • Female is dangerous however she is more sexual and feminine compared to tracksuits & messy hair. CAM SAMC -POV, Extreme close ups, Long Shot, Close up, Over the Shoulder, Panning, low angles X Skyfall • Uses a lot of low/high angle and camera movements compared to the use of POV, Mid shot and establishing shot. Editing Match on action, Transitions, Ellipsis and Flashbacks - The pace is slow at first but when it gets to the climatic part its fast. X Momento • Uses a lot of dialogue is used and diegetic thoughts. Music -non diegetic tense score music -fast pace when the climax is built X Se7en • Music is mysterious, creates tension
