Web 2.0 refers to websites and platforms that allow user-generated content and social interaction. Popular examples include YouTube, Wikipedia, and Flickr. Social media enables users to share and interact through uploading content on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. User-generated content is published by users and can include anything from videos to blog posts. Social media can be used by businesses and organizations to promote themselves and share information through creating pages and profiles. Engineering professionals can also use social media to collaborate and share ideas and innovations with other experts in their field.

- 2. WEB 2.0 Web 2.0 is a common name for WWW -pages and platforms that are based on customer development. Common features are for example getting information in and out in a simple way, social networking, RSS -feeds etc. Best known pages are youtube, blogger, wikipedia, gmail and flickr. Many other pages also exist, like meebo and lastfm. From the list you can see that the concept is fairly large and hard to explain in a couple of sentences. Most popular pages work just by using a browser.
- 3. Social media Social media is a media that is based on interacting. Facebook, youtube, twitter, wikipedia... In social medias users can upload their own materials to the pages and share it with others. Some social medias also interact with the users. For example, some web -pages suggest you movies based on the answers from others that have liked the same movie you did. Facebook advertising is largely based on your age, social status, gender and so on.
- 4. UGC User generated content is content published and shared by people who use the service. This content can be free to use or have less strict licensing than normal content shared on the pages which is usually protected by copyright laws. Some pages use normal content and user generated content. User generated content is usually censored and altered by the site administrators so that it's not offensive in any way.
- 5. Social media in engineering and business Social medias can be used largely to improve your business. Social media services are usually free and can reach a large amount of people. In www.facebook.com you can create your profile for your organization so that other people can join your page. After this they will see your updates in their news feed. This is an efficient and cheap way to promote your business, band or any kind of organization. Other pages where you can upload your content is youtube where many firms have their own user account. Gmail lets you use large amount of free services such as voice chat, regular chat, calendar, e-mail etc. All of these free services are useful for any organization.

Social medias are especially useful in the field of engineering. All the information and new innovations can be shared with others to review and you can also get new ideas from others or test other peoples hypothesis. Solving problems in engineering is easier with the help of social medias because you can communicate and share your ideas with experts that have propably very good idea of the subject. Also things that are considered stupid or taboos are easier to be discussed in social medias.

- 11. Comparison between facebook and World Of Warcraft The communication in these two virtual worlds is very different. In both of them there is e-mail service and instant chat, but the topics are different. In facebook you can chat only with people you have added to your friends list and these topics can be anything from school to work or to hobbies. In world of warcraft the conversation is usually related to the game, for example selling goods, finishing quests. This is why WoW has a voice chat function, the conversation is immediate and the information has to be expressed clearly for everyone. Facebook storages all the conversations. This is basically good so you can check them out later but it brings a lot of security and moral issues.
