- 1. HEA 740 Assessment Strategy
- 2. Getting started! A good place to start would be to look at the learning outcomes as they are reflected in the assessment strategy
- 3. Leaning Outcomes: Critically review and apply best available evidence relevant to the practice context/client group. Apply enhanced professional and specialist knowledge and skill relating to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the practice advancement, including change management strategies. Critically examine effective approaches to disseminate findings of the advancement in practice
- 4. Reflect upon your practice area. Is there something which would enhance patient care? For example: an information booklet introduction of teaching programme for staff An element of a NSF The list is endless
- 5. Had an idea for a possible practice innovation? Why not discuss it with your colleagues, your manager - is it needed?
- 6. Having thought of an innovation for your practice, you need to send an outline of your proposal to either Margaret or myself, either by post OR Via e-mail
- 7. Once we have your outline proposal, we will arrange for a member of staff to act as your academic supervisor. We will inform you in writing who is to be your academic supervisor. It is your responsibility to liaise with your supervisor and arrange meetings to discuss your assignment and progress Your supervisor will be the one to first mark your assignment.
- 9. Having decided on an innovation, you need to undergo a literature search to find supporting evidence for your innovation
- 10. Attend the classroom sessions regarding the management of change and leadership OR Access the teaching sessions on line
- 11. Be the change agent! Implement the change
- 12. Assess the progress of your innovation – is it working? What method of assessing is effectiveness have you used – is it valid/reliable?
- 13. Assess the progress of your innovation – is it working? Is it effective? If not, why not? Need to go back and rethink your strategy?
- 14. Writing up your assignment Your project must include the following: A brief outline of the background to your study i.e. the context and focus. A literature review, which must relate to your chosen practice advancement, in which you critically analyse the evidence base for your proposed change. A plan of action to introduce the change or innovation, taking into consideration resources required both physical and human. Reference to change theory and change management . An evaluation of the success or otherwise of the project. A conclusion and recommendations. Identification of the target audience for dissemination and a strategy for the promotion of your chosen practice advancement.
