You have been encouraged by a colleague to write an article
about "CEOs and presidents" for a management journal. You
have decided to compare the leadership styles of three leaders.
Using the Library, the Internet, and your course materials, write
a 8-10 page report that elaborates on the following:
In your article, provide the following:

leaders. Identify the processes that the leaders and top
management team are using or have used to impact their
organization.
· A discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the influence
processes used by the three leaders relative to current and future
challenges facing leaders in global organizations.
· A summary of the key attributes of the influence processes
employed by these leaders to effect positive organizational
change or improved performance.
Assignment Details:
This assignment has 4 parts (REFER TO ASSIGNMENT
DETAILS FOR UNIT 5).
1. What questions do you have about the overarching Unit 5
assignment? Although not due until the end of the class, it is
important that you begin planning for this project early in the
course. What are your initial thoughts about how you will
approach this assignment? Explain.
2. How do cross-cultural differences affect the use of or
response to power in organizations?
3. What are some examples of individual and organizational
sources of power and their consequences for followers and
organizations?
4. What are some examples of the abuse of power in
organizations and how might they have been prevented from
occurring? For assistance with your assignment, please use your
text, Web resources, and all course materials. In your own
words, please post a response to the Discussion Board and
comment on other postings. You will be graded on the quality of
your postings.
Deliverable Length: 400 words (minimum)

Wk1 - In this assignment you were asked to write a business
case for the new HWE Accessories website. You appropriately
included the major components of the problem statement;
analysis of the situation; cost-benefit analysis; feasibility study;
TCO; ROI; solution options; and recommendations. Calculating
the TCO and ROI can be complex and difficult to understand,
but leadership needs to have a clear understanding so they can
make informed decisions on your recommendations. You did a
good job with the ROI. You followed appropriate APA format.
Great job.
Wk2 - In this assignment you were asked to create a project
plan and risk matrix. Overall, you covered all tasks to include
developing a project plan that included (1) 10 to 15 tasks. (2) at
least 3 sub-tasks for each task, and an explanation of the project
plan. You also appropriately created a risk matrix based on the
project plan. As we learned this week, without a project plan,
the project becomes nothing more than a list of tasks. It is
crucial for the organization to have a professional project
management office that develops and follows a strong project
plan. Excellent job!
Wk3 - In this assignment you were asked to continue working as
IT manager on the business plan for the new HWE Accessories
website with a contract plan and accompanying project
milestones. Overall you did a good job meeting the tasks. You
appropriately completed the contract plan template, which
included the evaluation and selection process, contract
management principles, vendor risks, and software licensing.
You also updated the project milestones and dependencies as
appropriate. It is important to maintain an accurate milestones
chart with clear dates and dependencies as it is one of the
primary tools for communication and understanding where the
risks are with respect to the project. The IT project manager
must always know if the project is on track with respect to the
tasks.
WK4 - In this assignment you were asked to, as the IT manager
on the business plan for the new HWE Accessories website, to
(1) identify the control objectives and techniques that will
ensure the completeness, accuracy, validity, and authorization
of transactions and data for the new HWE Accessories website
and (2) create a system testing document for the system. Overall
you did a great job. You appropriately justified your decisions.
However, you needed to explain how the system will be tested
that included: (-25):
· Black box testing
· White box testing
· Functional testing
· Environment
· Security testing
· User acceptance testing (UAT)
· Unit testing
WK5 - In this assignment you were asked to, as IT manager,
write a 2- to 4-page implementation plan for the HWE
Accessories website. Overall, you did a good job. You included
the change over approach, data insertion/migration,
configuration management, and the release process for updating
the system. As you discovered this week, these components
must work together to ensure a solution is implemented that
meets the customer's requirements and expectations. The
configuration control board is crucial throughout the life cycle
of the system; through to the system's eventual
decommissioning. Great job!

third party for the new HWE Accessories website. Customize
the template as needed. Background and Objectives
A. Statement of Need:Introduce the plan with a brief statement
of need. Summarize the technical and contractual history.
Discuss feasible contract alternatives, prior contracts, and any
related in-house efforts.
B. Applicable Conditions: State all significant conditions
affecting the system, such as requirements for compatibility
with existing or future systems or programs; and any known
cost, schedule, and compatibility or performance constraints.
C. Costs and Period of Performance: The projected expenditure
for the proposed system based upon the Independent
Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) in the table below:
Period
Cost
Period of Performance
Base Year
$0.00
MM/DD/YYYY through MM/DD/YYYY
1st Option Year
$0.00
MM/DD/YYYY through MM/DD/YYYY
3rd Option Year
$0.00
MM/DD/YYYY through MM/DD/YYYY
4th Option Year
$0.00
MM/DD/YYYY through MM/DD/YYYY
Total
$0.00
D. Capability or Performance: Specify the required capabilities
or performance characteristics of the supplier, or the
performance standards of the services; and how they relate to
the need.
E. Delivery or Performance Period Requirements:Describe the
basis for establishing delivery or performance period
requirements. Explain and provide reasons for any urgency, or
justification for not providing for full and open competition.
F. Trade-Offs:Discuss the expected consequences of tradeoffs
among the various cost, capability, or performance and schedule
goals.
G. Risks:Discuss the technical, cost, and schedule risks and
describe what efforts are being planned to reduce risk and the
consequences of failure to achieve goals.
1. Technical:
2. Cost:
3. Schedule:Plan of Action
A. Product or Service Description:Explain the choice of product
or service description types (including performance-based
contracting descriptions) to be used in the plan.
B. Potential Sources:Address/detail the following:
1. Prospective Offerors: Describe how prospective offerors will
be identified.
2. Market Research: Identify who conducted the market
research.
3. Address the extent and results of the market research and
indicate their impact on the various elements of the plan.
C. Competition: Specify if the proposed plan will be solicited
on a competitive or noncompetitive basis.
D. If full and open competition is not contemplated, explain the
basis for that decision.
E. Source Selection Procedures:Address/detail the following:
1. Evaluation Procedures: Explain how offers will be evaluated,
and the relationship of the evaluation procedures to the
technical factors/standards, technical evaluation team, and
solicitation requirements.
Example: Proposals will be evaluated pursuant to the “Best
Value Continuum” Source Selection Process, with emphasis
placed on past performance, management capabilities and
personnel qualifications, price, and on the contractor’s quality
control plan as risk factors in determining overall technical
acceptability. Past performance data and management
capabilities and personnel qualifications and the contractor’s
quality control plan will be evaluated in accordance with FAR
15.305. A team of qualified business personnel will evaluate
technical proposals in accordance with the requisite source
selection plan, and the solicitation. Price proposals will be
evaluated independently of technical evaluations. Award will be
made to the technically acceptable offeror(s) whose proposal,
being responsive to all solicitation requirements, offers the best
value to the business. Award will further be contingent upon
determinations of contractor responsibility and price
reasonableness.
2. Evaluation Factors:
3. Evaluation Factor Standards:
F. Contracting Considerations: Address/detail the following:
1. Contract Type: (Example: Firm, Fixed-Price, or Requirements
Contract)
2. Options: Specify any options to be used. For example,
“Option to Extend Services” or “Option to Extend the Term of
the Contract” may be included as unilateral authority to extend
services based upon continued need and funds availability. If
options will not be used, provide a brief explanation.
3. Special Contract Clauses, Provisions, or Deviations: Specify
the special contract clauses, provisions, or deviations, if any.
4. Contracting Method: Detail the contracting method, including
any negotiated procedures being used.
Example: It has been determined that use of negotiated
procedures for the proposed system is most conducive to the
business needs. The flexibility to hold discussions with
potential offerors significantly enhances the business’ ability to
maximize competition and obtain quality services at fair and
reasonable pricing.
5. Contract Administration: Who will administer the contract?
G. Budgeting and Funding: Address/detail the following:
1. Derivation of Budgeting Estimates:
2. Funding Availability: Subject to Availability of Funds or
FYXX funds are available.
3. Currency Used: U.S. Dollar
H. Management Information Requirements: Discuss, as
appropriate, what management system will be used to monitor
the contractor’s effort (a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan, a
Management Plan, a Work Plan (construction), etc.).
I. Logistics Considerations:Describe the distribution of
commercial items; the reliability, maintainability, and quality
assurance requirements, including any planned use of
warranties; the requirements for contractor data (including
repurchase data) and data rights, their estimated cost, and the
use to be made of the data; and standardization concepts,
including the necessity to designate, in accordance with agency
procedures, technical equipment as “standard” so that future
purchases of the equipment can be made from the same
manufacturing source.
J. Business-Furnished Equipment: Indicate any property to be
furnished to contractors (including material, facilities, office
equipment, etc.), and discuss any associated considerations,
such as its availability or the schedule for its acquisition.
K. Business-Furnished Information:Discuss any business
information, such as maps or drawings to be provided to
prospective offerors and contractors.
L. Safety and Security Considerations:Discuss how adequate
security will be established, maintained, and monitored. This
might include requiring the contractor to obtain security
clearances and building badges/passes (include additional or
other requirements as needed).
M. Milestones for System Cycle:Insert the appropriate
milestone chart.
