The study aimed to identify genomic loci associated with canopy coverage in soybean using a panel of 373 diverse genotypes across five environments. Significant associations were found, with 36 SNPs linked to canopy coverage at early stages and 56 at later stages, leading to the identification of 33 and 50 quantitative trait loci, respectively. These findings highlight the potential for using favorable alleles in breeding programs to enhance canopy development and improve soybean competitiveness.
