- 1. Tyler Webb Harold Blanco CI 350-201 May 5, 2015 Unit Plan Abstract For my unit plan I decided to cover one of America’s greatest novels, The Great Gatsby. For my classroom it will be 11th grade students, 24 students in all, 14 girls and 10 boys. 1 of the students will be visually impaired and there are 4 students who have ADHD. But for teaching The Great Gatsby I wanted to cover the important parts of the story while incorporating what I have learned about in this class this semester. So I have integrated some assignments from this class and have made them assignments for the students in my unit plan. But my objective of my unit plan is simple, by the end of the week my students will be able to identify key elements, devices, and have a general understanding of The Great Gatsby through learning about the author’s background, the history, culture, characters, and plot of the story with 95% accuracy. That’s what I want to cover in my unit plan about The Great Gatsby. They will be learning about one of America’s greatest novels and doing interesting, amazing projects that pair really well with me trying to teach them about the novel.
