- 4. Stick Man • In the 18th century at 35 stone gate, there was an old man who was in constant fear of his house being robbed (he couldn’t do anything because he was always on his bed). To scare any robbers off, the old man waited for the minster to strike midnight, he would constantly knock his cane on the bedroom wall all night long every night until he died. When future families moved in they claimed to still hear knocking in the old man’s bedroom to this day…
- 5. Roaming Wraith • Marmaduke Buckle was born in 1697 with many handicap disabilities, this made the locals think he was doing witchcraft. Buckle never left the house during his life, but one day he decided to end it all. Buckle drew his birthdate on that days date (1715) before hanging himself from one of the house beams. • Even though duke is long dead, some say that his soul still inhabits the house (now La Piazza restaurant). There is little evidence to support this, but someone claimed that he pushed them down the stairs and flickered the restaurant lights on and off. However this could just be all a coincidence… right?
- 6. The Dirty Duke • During sometime in the 18th century, George Villers, first Duke of Buckingham, constantly spent his time around the Cock and Bottle pub. He earned the name of Dirty Duke by constantly seducing the waitresses of the pub and “taking care of them” all over the pubs property. Villers decided to spy on the land lady of the pub while she was taking a shower, however the land lord caught him and killed him. • The pubs still exists to this day besides for all the “monkey business” that went on there. Female patrons claim that Villers’ ghost spies on them in the women’s toilet. I supposed death didn’t stop Villers, he just became more disgusting.
- 7. Russian Sleeping Experiment • At the start of the Cold War, the Russian army kidnapped five American politicians to be test subjects for an experimental weapon: gas that stops sleep. The subjects were taken to a laboratory and placed in a cramped living space that could only be monitored by sound surveillance and a glass wall for scientists to look through. The gas would be pumped into the room nonstop for 15 to 20 days. If the subjects didn’t fall asleep in that time, they would be set free. • The first five days were uneventful until one of the test subjects began to scream for hours while the others blocked the glass wall with paper covered in their poop. Only able to hear them, the scientists sent the guards to investigate. One of the scientists spoke through the speaker and said that if the subjects didn’t interfere with the guards’ investigation they would be set free, however they replied “We don’t want to be free…” The gas got turned off before the guards entered, this unleashed vast rage amongst the subjects, the guards went into the cell, however what they saw was horrifying. • One test subject was dead, while the others had many pieces of their flesh and organs ripped out. The gas seemed to have turned the test subjects into cannibals. The subjects put up a ferocious fight, but they were caught at the cost of a soldiers life. The test subjects begged for the gas to come back, however three subjects went to sleep and died after experimentation. The last subject was put back into the room with a scientist. However, the scientist revolted because he didn’t want to be locked in with the subject. The scientist questioned the subject about what happened to him. The subject said that nightmares are sentient forces that take over the body and only sleep represses them. The scientist killed the last subject, leaving the rest of the story unknown.
- 8. Jeff the Killer • Jeffery Woods was born and raised in America, he lived a normal life until his family moved to a small town when he was a teenager. Waiting for their ride to school, Jeff and his brother were approached by bullies at the bus stop. The three bullies robbed them at knife point, but Jeff fought back and forced them to retreat, however, Jeff made a powerful enemy that day. • Jeff attended a birthday party on his mother’s behalf, but the bullies showed up for pay back. A fight broke out between them, Jeff got covered in alcohol while two of the bullies were killed in self defense. The last bully through a lighter at Jeff, setting him ablaze. • Jeff survived but got third degree burns this gave him extreme brain damage which led to insanity. After regaining conciseness, Jeff went on a killing spree, he killed his parents first, and then, the rest of the town. Jeff killed many people until one of his victims killed him and avenged her parents.
- 9. Slenderman and his brothers • By far the most iconic, Slenderman is an entity that roams the American woods and kills any people who get lost in his territory, mostly children. Slenderman comes from a species of entities who are his brothers, they are: • Splendorman: Unlike his brother, Splendorman likes to bring happiness and joy to people he comes across. • Sexual Offendorman: His name says enough… moving on! • Tenderman: There’s not much to say about Tenderman except that he has a strong fashion sense. • Dark fact: Two girls believed that Slenderman was real. They brought a friend into their local woods and stabbed her several times, they hoped to kill her and give the corpse to Slenderman as a sacrifice. The victim survived though and her attempted murderers went to a mental asylum.
- 10. Which research into existing products has been the most useful? Includes examples and explanations • The Russian Sleeping Experiment, Doctor Who: Afterlife and the Roaming Wraith were all the most useful: • The Russian Sleeping Experiment gave me the most inspiration because of it’s unique and different story. • Doctor Who: Afterlife (even though convoluted) had an interesting and other-worldly feeling which can be used for my scary story. • Roaming Wraith was the best ghost story I could find, a man who's been inside his home his entire life, and now refusing to leave can be used as the plot for my scary story.

- 12. Which story have you settled on and why? • I choose Roaming Wraith for my scary story. It has the most detail of a ghost story, and it’s based in York. A house haunted by a cripple ghost is good on its own, but there’s so much more I can add to it. I think this ghost story would have a narrator (even though it’s based on true events), all of this will fit well together.
- 13. If you had to sell your story quickly, what is the title and the logline? • Title: The devourer of souls! • Logline: The House of Wraith whales with hunger for human souls!

What ideas have you had for sound effects, narration and storytelling? • Narration: I will be the narrator of the story, I will tell the story in a first person perspective. • Storytelling: The person that I’m playing who’s telling the story will be in the past tense. He’s already been through this experience, but he wants to warn people of the creature that lurks inside the Wraith House. As him, I will describe what is happening through his experience and then his narrow escape. • Sound effects: footsteps, key jangling, door opening, a building that’s struggling to stay up, laughter, screaming, voice of narrator, voice of warning spirits, voices of demon and souls within his body, waling, scratching, drooling, licking lips, whispering, heavy breathing, sniffling…

Initial feelings…how do you feel about the project currently? • Pros: A new idea of a unified consciousness and a house that is a living being makes an intriguing story. • Cons: I don’t have enough experience in audio and my plot sounds too long. • Excitement: I’ve had this obsession of a unified consciousness for a while, I can use this opportunity to bring it to life! I can also gain experience in audio for future projects. • Worries: I fear that I won’t be able to make a goof project because of my lack of audio experience. I worry that my plot is too convoluted to understand.
