INTRODUCTION
A combination of a real scene
viewed by a user and a virtual
scene generated by a computer
that augments the scene with
additional information.

WHAT IS AUGMENTED REALITY(A.R)
Augmented Reality (AR) is
basically the mechanism of
placing a 3D digital(computerized)
object in the real world which can
interact with us.

ROLE OF A.R
The role of AR is to create
a system such that a user
cannot tell the difference
between the real world
objects and the virtual
objects in it.

HOW A.R WORKS
1. Pick a real world scene
with the help of camera and
other sensors.
2. Add the virtual
object/scene to it with the
help of computer.
3. Present the created scene.

THE TYPES OF A.R
1. Hand Held Devices/ Monitor Based –
The mobile phone and computer screen.
2. Head-mounted Display(HMD)
Required devices are paired to a
headset such helmet.

WORKING MECHANISMS

It has two types and they are :

 More accurate sensing
 Thin film battery
 Vision Aid

Augmented Reality is a relatively new field,
where most of the research efforts have
occurred in the past four years. Because of the
numerous challenges and unexplored avenues
in this area, AR will remain a vibrant area of
research for at least the next several years. After
the basic problems with AR are solved, the
ultimate goal will be to generate virtual objects
that are so realistic that they are virtually
indistinguishable from the real environment.
