The word “Auto Pilot” here refers to self driving .This
process can be achieved by radars, sensors and GPS tracking
maps.
First the destination place is fixed where the driver wants
to go in GPS map .When the engine starts all the equipment
starts to do its Work .Majority of the work is done by the
Radar and remaining job is done by GPS tracking system
.There will be a control unit which helps us to make our
journey in safe path .There will be sensors at the bottom of
the vehicle for detecting the speed breakers and conditions of
the roads.
This Auto Pilot is a research project .By implementing
this technology in vehicles we can enable it to self-drive in
the highway roads without the control of humans.
Now a days many accidents are caused due to careless -ness
of the drivers .This can be avoided by implementing this Auto
Pilot mode technology in vehicles .In this technology many
high rated and advanced equipment’s are going to be used to
make a safe journey .This technology can creates a new
revolution in automobile and transport field .This helps the
users to save their valuable time which is wasted while
driving.

Ladar is a surveying method that measures distance to a target
by illuminating the target with pulsed laser light and
measuring the reflected pulses with a sensor. Differences in
laser return times and wavelengths can then be used to make
digital 3-D representations of the target.
Radar is an Object- detection system that uses radio waves that
determines the range ,angle ,velocity of objects . It shows
about the distance between the objects. It can be used to
detect aircraft, ships, space craft , guided missiles and motor
vehicles.
An Ultrasonic sensor is a device that can measure the
distance to an object by using sound waves. It measures
distance by sending out a sound wave at a specific frequency
and listening for that sound wave to bounce back. By
recording the elapsed time between the sound wave being
generated and the sound wave bouncing back, it is possible to
calculate the distance between the sonar sensor and the object.
By outfitting cars with cameras at all angles, the vehicles
will be able to maintain a 360 degree view of their surroundin
-gs.These cameras take their 2D images and run them through
a computer The computer creates a 3D mapping of the
surroundings, allowing the car to navigate itself on the road.
A sensor mounted on the left rear wheel measures small
movement made by the car and helps to locate its position on
the map accurately.
GPS is a device that is capable of receiving information
from GPS satellites and then to calculate the device's
geographical position. Using suitable software, the device
may display the position on a map, and it may offer
directions.
The control unit receives information from all parts like
Radar , ladar , Ultrasonic Sensors , cameras , GPS system etc
and sends correct response to all other mechanical parts like
brakes , gears, accelerator .

DISADVANTAGES:
By implementing this Auto Pilot mode technology will
surely reduce the occurrences of road accidents by a
considerable value .In future, the wide acceptance of this
technology will create an “Accident free world .”
