This document is a dissertation submitted by Peter Muwanula for a Master's degree in Business Management at the University of Johannesburg. The dissertation examines the perspectives of taxi owners in the City of Tshwane, South Africa regarding the adoption of an automated fare collection (AFC) system for the taxi industry. The study aims to determine taxi owners' awareness and knowledge of AFC systems, their perceptions of benefits, barriers and challenges to adoption, and their views on the role of the National Department of Transport in the adoption process.
