Components Rating and Cost
 The Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) which is mounted on roof of the vehicle is the
most important device is the Autonomous vehicles.
 The LIDAR consists of an emitter, mirror and receiver.
 The emitter sends out a Laser beam that bounces off a mirror that is rotating along with the
cylindrical housing at 10 revolutions per minute.
 The vehicle can then generate a map of its surroundings and use the map to avoid objects.
LIDAR Sensor
LDR Sensor
A light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is a device whose resistivity is function of the incident
electromagnetic radiation.
They are light sensitive device, they are made up of semiconductor materials having high
resistance.
A light dependent resistor works on the principle of photo conductivity.
Photo conductivity is an optical phenomenon in which the materials conductivity is
increased when light is absorbed by the material.
Eye blink Sensor
The IR transmitter is used to transmit the infrared rays in our eye.
The IR receiver is used to receive the reflected infrared rays of eye.
If the eye is closed means the output of IR receiver is high otherwise the IR receiver output
is low.
This to know the eye is closing or opening position. This output is give to logic circuit to
indicate the alarm.
This project involves controlling accident due to unconscious through Eye blink.
Relay
A relay is an electromagnetic switch that is used to turn on and turn off a
circuit by a low power signal, or where several circuits must be controlled by
one signal.
Relays are simple switches which are operated both electrically and
mechanically.
Relays consist of an electromagnet and also a set of contacts.
The switching mechanism is carried out with the help of the electromagnet.
GPS
GPS uses satellites to gather information about the current position of vehicle.
By using the GPS a map of the area is loaded into the central computer.
It is a space-based radio-navigation system consisting of 24 satellites and
ground support.
GPS provides users with accurate information about their position and
velocity, as well as the time, anywhere in the world and in all weather
conditions.
Arduino Uno
Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on 8-bit ATmega328P microcontroller.
Along with ATmega328P, it consists other components such as crystal oscillator, serial
communication, voltage regulator, etc. to support the microcontroller.
Arduino Uno has 14 digital input/output pins (out of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6
analog input pins, a USB connection.
The 14 digital input/output pins can be used as input or output pins by using pin Mode(), digital
Read() and digital Write() functions in Arduino programming.
Each pin operate at 5V and can provide or receive a maximum of 40mA current.
Arduino Nano
 The Arduino Nano is very much similar to the Arduino UNO.
 They use the same Processor (Atmega328p) and hence they both can share the same
program.
 One big difference between both is the size UNO is twice as big as Nano and hence
occupies more space on your project.
 Also Nano is breadboard friendly while Uno is not. To program a Uno you need Regular
USB cable where as for Nano you will need a mini USB cable.
Permanent magnet DC motor
Basic configuration of a permanent magnet DC motor is very similar to that of a normal
DC motor.
when a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a force.
In a PMDC motor, permanent magnets (located in stator) provide magnetic field, instead of
stator winding.
The stator is usually made from steel in cylindrical form. Permanent magnets are usually
made from rare earth materials or neodymium.
Permanent magnet dc motors are extensively used where smaller power ratings are
required, e.g. in toys, small robots, computer disc drives etc.

OUTPUT RESULTS
ADVANTAGES
 Low price- cost of the components and making cost of the device is low.
 Availability-the parts or components of the device are available in the market.
 Security from damages.
 Attractive for electric propulsion motors.
 Effective in highly populated areas.
 Applicable for carrying goods in hospitals, industries etc.
CONCLUSION
Using this system we can effectively controls the speed of the vehicle
according to different zones.
This system can be implemented in any kind of vehicle.
We can use this system in highly populated regions and thus we can decrease
the effects of accidents.
Automatic high beam controller will reduce the rate of road accidents mostly
in high way.
