This document summarizes the results of an anti-virus comparative retrospective test conducted in March 2012 that evaluated the abilities of various anti-virus programs to detect new malware through heuristic detection before signature updates as well as behavioral protections after execution; over 4,000 new malware samples from around March 2nd 2012 were used in the test which evaluated 17 anti-virus programs with the results showing the detection rates for scanning and any additional protection provided by behavioral analysis after execution.
