This document summarizes the results of an anti-virus file detection test conducted in September 2012. 20 major anti-virus products were tested on their ability to detect malware in a set of over 240,000 recent malicious files. G DATA detected 99.9% of the malware and had few false alarms. Webroot detected below 80% of malware and had many false alarms. The results showed detection rates and false alarms for each product, with the products ranked and receiving awards based on their combined performance.
