Assessment CSAP – Reading, Writing, Math, & Science DIBELS – Reading Test Scantron Math and Reading) Accelerated Reader GRADE –group administered reading and listening assessment
Language Arts Many resources:  ( Reading Street , literature circles, novels,  Time for Kids , and non-fiction &/or historical fiction integrated with current IB unit of inquiry). At home reading  -  minimum 20-30 minutes daily Writing:  Six Trait and Step Up to Writing  program to include: expository and narrative writing, multi-paragraph essays, journals, letters, poetry, and note taking to accompany current IB unit of inquiry
Mathematics Everyday Math:  Family letter sent home at the beginning of each unit 12 Units,  each with a practice test, and then unit test at the end   Math quizzes  are given periodically throughout each unit Nightly homework,  called the Studylink, will match the lesson taught at school that day; sometimes a math journal page also Hands-on-Equations  is the algebra program used by the school   Math Facts:  instant recall of multiplication/division facts to 12x12 is expected, 5-10 mins practice each evening http://everydaymath.uchicago.edu/parents/index.shtml TAG students   will receive their math in the TAG room, so curriculum specifics should be discussed with the TAG teacher, Ms Stegman.
IBPYP Curriculum: Profile and Attitudes:  please reinforce at home IB units of inquiry: Earth Movements, Government, Writing, Regions, Immigration and Environments
Homework: Written on board daily; students are to copy in their planner No more than 50 minutes nightly Daily reading 20-30 minutes  Math: usually one page of studylink and/or mathbox
Class Discipline Plan: Rules and Expectations:  Show  respect  for everyone,  Always have a good  attitude   Watch the  noise  level IB Profiles and Attitudes Three Tier School Discipline Plan
