Current Limiting = Supply Voltage – Voltage drop across LED
Resistance (R)                 Desired Current


   Example:
   • LED = RED (Voltage drop = 2Volts)
   • Supply Voltage = 5 Volts
   • Current = 3mA
   • Resistance (R) = ??
                  Approximate Voltage Drop
         RED         GREEN     YELLOW         BLUE
