Bass-Ackwards Apoc Part 6
- 1. Welcome back, it shouldn’t have been a long wait. The things we do while bored and waiting for planes. Last time our founder, Xavier finally died of old age. The only old age death we’ve had so far. We’ve also passed the halfway point of the challenge. And for those of you who missed it, Kori had a bit of an issue with elixir and is now glowing and sparkling. The plot it keeps biting. Make it stop!!!So lets get right to things, shall we?
- 2. Kori was very upset about Xavier’s death and her blueness. One of the things I tried to get rid of blue was her changing her clothes. Hence the reason she is in her formal wear.
- 3. “Koriand’r, what’s wrong?”“I miss my grandfather.”
- 4. “He’s gone to a better place.”“That doesn’t make me feel better.”
- 5. “Kori, stop wallowing in your self pity and listen to your husband.”“What?”“You need to not dwell on the past but focus on the future.”“What do you mean?”
- 7. “Think of Xavier’s passing as an opportunity.”“What do you mean?”

- 26. “I can’t believe I lost. I have full body points. I have full logic. I am fit. What’s wrong with me!”
- 27. Now that they can search the whole paper, Kori found a job in Culinary which is her LTW career. I like this sim a lot so I want to make her happy. There is a secondary reason too. 2.0 is the contact for Regina. Just in case he dies before I can move her in, I want to have someone who has a chance of bringing her home from work.
- 28. I also figured out how to fix the elixir glow. Although it took another couple shots of elixir to do it. So Kori is now 6 days younger than I had planned.
- 29. “Ugh, no wonder I lost the damned fight. Stupid stomach flu.”
- 30. “I think I’m sick.”“You do look a little paler than usual. Why don’t you go lie down? Those pens in the bedroom will make you feel right as rain in no time.”
- 31. “Hmmmm, this device will factor quite nicely into my plans.”
- 32. “I don’t know why John wants me to take care of these. It’s not like they do anything like Bob does.”
- 33. Jean is still slogging away at Athletics. But her aspiration is looking a little anemic. Her want panel is filled with objects she can’t have but there is one thing that she wants that I can buy her.
- 34. “Where did the sauna come from?”“Erk! Dying of disease here.”
- 35. “That’s nice. Can we go haunt the sauna now?”
- 36. And Kara reaches her LTW to max all seven skills. Her new one, become Chief of Staff. A title that has totally different connotations to me than what Maxis intended.
- 37. “Dad, stop gossiping with strange teens about how I made enemies with that annoying girl. I still haven’t been demoted yet in retaliation.”“Oh! More good gossip!”
- 38. “Oh I guess I wasn’t sick! That demotion’s going to have to wait.”
- 39. “Um, Killer, I hope you don’t mind. You’re going to be a father.”
- 41. “I love you, KK.”“You like making me sweat, don’t you?”
- 42. “KK, do you really need me to answer that?”“No, probably not.”“Good.”
- 43. “Although I wish you would say something about your impending fatherhood.”
- 44. “What do you want me to say? I’m pleased as all hell. But nervous as fuck at the same time. And there’s a part of me that wants to get all caveman and go ‘Baby mine! Wife sexy! Keep away!’ but I don’t think you’d like that much.”“You’re right. Although you can keep the backrubs up. Those are definitely of the good.”
- 45. “Come here, Koriand’r. How would you like to give our grandchild a playmate their own age.”“There isn’t room.”“Pfft! We’ll make room.”
- 46. “Elton, I don’t think our guest approves.”“Boo!!! He’s just using you, honey!”“Ignore her, Koriand’r.”
- 47. Another day, another promotion. Not much longer now.
- 48. At the same time, Kara pops into her final semester.
- 49. The next day, Emma lifts Athletic. Allowing me to move large items, have more than 3 items in inventory, and buy workout equipment.Unfortunately, that also means that it is time for unpleasant part of this apocalypse.
- 50. “At least the graveyard island has amenities.”
- 51. As is often the case, the same day that someone is banished to the death spot, a birthday happens. In this case a double one.John here rolled knowledge and got the VERY not happening LTW of becoming an Ecological Guru.
- 52. And J’onn rolled Family thus cementing that my doublemint twins will be miserable. Although his LTW is doable – Celebrity Chef.
- 53. Also that night, Kara decided it would be a good time to give birth. It was a surprisingly low key event.
- 54. And we have our first child of the generation, Arthur. Arthur is named after Aquaman. He is the cool one, the one with the hook for a hand. Not the tightie-whitieguy from the Superfriends.
- 55. And just like me, I think everyone is very pleased to have a male heir. Or at least probable heir. We all know what this means – just as soon as Tuesday rolls around and Emma dies. Not like I’m impatient or anything.

- 57. Because I needed to try to get J’onn and John’s aspiration low enough to de-age them fairly quickly I set out to fulfill fears.
- 58. While J’onn was getting shot down for a dance by Killian, John was finding a teen job in business.
- 59. And the next morning, J’onn found a job in Music. So I’m pretty set for this generation, assuming that all goes well and I can get the twins aged before their grades slip too much.
- 60. Meanwhile, out on the death spot, Emma bemoans the lack of amenities.
- 61. And then realizes she’s not alone. “Feed me!”
- 62. “Me too!”
- 63. That night, since it was Tuesday, I had Regina’s friend-holder, 2.0, invite her over in preparation for hopefully moving her in. It was as I was filming this, that I noticed that Emma’s portrait disappeared from the side of the screen.
- 64. I zoomed over to the deathspot to find this. Grimmy taking Emma and Jean floating around looking smug.I don’t know if Jean killed Emma or if Emma died of something else. And I won’t know until I see her ghost.
- 65. But still that means that I now have an opening…“Feed me!”
- 66. Although there was another possibility. Eye Candy was out that night as well. Considering that he’s killed 3 sims so far, it is entirely likely that he killed his youngest daughter as well.
- 67. So Regina moved in, Instalifting Culinary. And she immediately got to work keeping the friends she had from her job so that Killian wasn’t the only friendholder.
- 68. “So. I’m marrying you.”“Gah!”“Well, at least you are cute.”“Buh!”
- 69. Regina moved in with an inventory full of crap. And I do mean full. These two dance spheres were only the tip of the iceberg. She’s also got several stereos, 2 telescopes, a television, a few lights, several statues, and a few flowers.
- 70. Thanks to Killian’s rejection, J’onn was first to hit the low green so I could anti-elixir him into adulthood.
- 71. Although I think he is a little confused about why I am aging him.
- 72. However, he did grow up nicely and into Level 6 of the music career.
- 73. “What’s wrong, J’onn?”“I didn’t go to college!”“So? None of us have. That’s life. Get over it and get out of the way. I want to get up now.”
- 74. With Regina moving in, we finally can stop with the meditation to conserve food. So I decided to celebrate with pancakes. It’s not waffles, but they’ll do.
- 75. However Regina’s cooking spree distracted me from the OTHER reason why I have my sims meditate.
- 76. And knowing my luck…
- 77. I bet you can guess…
- 79. Yes, both Kori and Kara are pregnant. Excuse me while I beat my head massively and try to figure out what to do.There will be death. The question is how much…
- 80. While I am figuring this out, here’s a picture of J’onn and Arthur being cute.Okay, I have an answer, but I’ll get to it when it is implemented. It takes some explanation.
- 81. Now that Regina has moved in, she really doesn’t have much to do while waiting for Arthur to grow up. Regina is a romance sim with a very doable LTW of becoming a rock god. This is assuming that she can find the job in the paper. So far, no luck.
- 82. Also that morning, John finally dropped into the low green and experienced the effects of de-aging.
- 83. And he grows up into very appropriate everyday wear.
- 84. Especially considering what J’onn grew up into. I kinda find it amusing that John is in white and is evil and J’onn is in black and is good. Kinda the whole anti-western.
- 85. John wasn’t in his sweater long, though. Since he can work today.
- 86. J’onn on the other hand has the day off, so he skilled.
- 87. And hit on icy old ladies. I kinda can’t blame him. His turn-ons are Grey hair and creativity. Since he’s a spare, he’s gotta take his lovin’ where he can get it.
- 88. While his twin comes home with a promotion.
- 89. That night, it was time for another birthday. The first one with cake.
- 90. “So what’d I miss?”“Not much. Just you stepping in front of my three-bolter!”“J’onn? What are you on? You haven’t been eating the funky plants?”“No…”
- 91. Sibling banter aside, Arthur grew up into a cute toddler. Complete with the ears!He is an Aries with 7/10/8/4/3.
- 92. And here’s your proof that Regina’s at the top of Culinary. She kinda rocks the Iron Chef outfit. Although she still isn’t as awesome as Iron Chef Chen or Sakai.
- 93. “Stupid household! I can’t woohoothe hotness! Dammit! Someone lift medical.”

- 109. “Let’s just get this over with. I have a date with Buffy later.”
- 110. “Why are you crying, J’onn?”“I miss dad.”“Why? He barely spent any time with us.”“He’s still our father.”“Pussy.”“Think of what this is going to do to Mom.”“Oh yeah.”
- 111. “Can you boys keep the blubbering down? I’m trying to sponge bathe here!”
- 112. “My husband’s dead!”“Dammit, John get your butt down here and give mom a hug. I have to go to work!”
- 113. “So I’m pregnant again… I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. I just wish I weren’t alone.”
- 114. “Hmm, I think something has changed.”“I’m pregnant.”“That could be it.”
- 115. “Hello baby!”“You didn’t tell me you were pregnant.”“It didn’t come up.”“Well, apparently it did.”“Look, Stephen, I’m not looking for love. It’s not even in my want panel. But what I really want is a friend. Do you think you can do that.”“Maybe. Have I mentioned I wear my sunglasses at night.”“Corey Hart you are not.”

- 117. With both twins making good progress…
- 118. And Killian continued to rock. Rolling the wants to teach his son all of his skills.
- 119. While Kara rolled the want to quit her job. Something that I could do. The family is sitting on over $600,000. So it’s not like we are hurting for cash here.
- 120. “Mom?”“Yeah, J’onn.”“Don’t let Dad’s death keep you down. We love you and I don’t want to be an orphan.”“Oh, J’onny, that’s sweet. I love you, too, baby. But I’m not going anywhere. I’m a lot stronger than my mother was. And I have lots of things to live for. You and your brother for one. Where is your brother, anyway?”“I think he has an axe to grind.”

- 122. Kori really did seem to bounce back from 2.0’s death, she played with her grandson…
- 123. And talked to her soon to be grandchild. Over all she was content.
- 124. Although there were times that she wished things were different…
- 125. So I mentioned a while back I would explain my solution. Well most of you know that in an unpatched Apartment Life game, you can get up to 9 sims living in the house with the cheesecake effect.Since the pregnancy happened AFTER Regina moved in. I am going to treat this like a cheesecake effect twins.
- 126. Even though the twins are being carried by two different sims. 2.0 died to even out the count. But I don’t have any plans to kill off anyone else for a little while.
- 127. “Look! Plot!”“Wha?”“Heh. Made you look!”
- 128. “Hello baby! Daddy’s really happy that he doesn’t have to die. Now he gets to teach you all sorts of fun skills!”“That’s sweet, Killer. A little too honest. But sweet.”“That’s me. Mr. Honesty.”“Ugh!”
- 129. “What’d I say!”“Ow! Nothing!”“Oh my! Baby!”“Ow! My head!”
- 130. “Just breathe, baby!”“What’s going on?”“Can’t you see my sister’s having a baby, Regina?”“Yeah. I hope it’s another boy for me to choose from.”“A little help here please!”“Just spin and twirl, KK! It worked last time!”
- 131. A spin and a twirl later and we have another boy. Say hello to Kurt Doran.Kurt is named after NightCrawler from the X-men.
- 132. “Yay baby!”“You don’t suppose I can go on vacation and maybe never come back?”“Um. How about no.”“Baby?”
- 133. No sooner than the cheering stopped than the screaming began.
- 134. “What parenting skills.”“Hush, Regina.”
- 135. And a few moments later another baby boy, Scott, was born.Scott here is named after Scott Summers aka Cyclops also of the X-men. Let’s hope he is cooler than his namesake.
- 136. “Grrr!!! I’m no longer the baby! Die, Scott! Die!”
- 137. “Done kicking the stuffing out of inanimate objects?”“Bite me.”“I would, but that would lead to other things.”“Don’t you have a job to find?”“You mean in Music? Funny you should mention it. I just found a job in that. Want me to see if there is an opening in Natural Science? Oops. I forgot, you can’t take it if there were one.”“Kiss my ass.”“Gladly.”
- 138. “I’m home!!! And I got a promotion!!!”
- 139. “I wonder if I go back to work if I’ll get another one. If I do, I’ll be at the top.”
- 140. Regina really isn’t all snark and snipe. She’s really very good with the babies, almost as if she knows what is expected of her.
- 141. A few hours later, J’onn came home with a promotion to Rock God, lifting Music and allowing all sorts of happy weather related things.
- 142. Also that night, it was time for Arthur to grow up into a child.
- 143. Even though it wasn’t a Tuesday, the house had the usual conglomerate of random visitors to make it a pretty crowded kitchen.
- 144. “Want shiney!”“No, baby. Fire and Aquamen don’t mix.”“Fire bad?”“Yes, baby.”
- 145. “Woohoo!!! You’re going to be hot!”“Regina, keep it down.”
- 146. While not classically as cute as his two uncles, Arthur is still a cutie. I think he will grow into the cheeks and the hair definitely suits him.And this is where I think I will leave you guys.

Well other than a glitchy crib the following:John is one promotion from lifting Business, and then we have Medical, Military, Science, Gamer and Education as well as the optional one of Alien Tech.
