1. Style interpretation is how a designer expresses and translates their design concept. It plays an important role in fashion. 2. Pattern making is the systematic process of creating paper patterns for garment designs. It involves making basic blocks for adult and child sizes and then manipulating darts or using the slash and spread method to adapt the blocks to different designs. 3. Designs are created by combining different body, skirt, sleeve, and collar types through this pattern making process.

- 1. Style Interpretation Interpretation means how to translate the style how to explain the style means design of the dress Style interpretation placed an important role in the fashion world. It is the way by which the designer expresses their design. Process- Drafting is the one of the basic components of the fashion designing making it more practical. Without the knowledge of drafting, designer does not know how to develop design and fashion garment. Fashion designer has also to instruct the tailor about the new type of design. Hence the basic knowledge of drafting is essential. Pattern making is very systematic method of making garment. There is a proper procedure of making drafting or paper pattern of a particular design. It is as follows. Step first- 1. Making of basic drafting- Basic drafting of a size given by customer are made. The basic drafting is of child body block. Dart Manipulation- It is a process used for adapting the drafting of adult body and some time and skirts the produce of dart manipulation darts the look of garment. But does not alert the fitting of the garments for eg. I. Fitting body with princess line will be same of that of basic body block. II. Fitting of bodies with three darts of the shoulder will be same as the fitting of the bodices with princess line. Therefore darts are manipulations to create the designer look of the garment as manipulation. Dart can also be converted in to the pleats tucks in shown in illustration of dart manipulation conversation of dart in flares is illustrated in the conversation of basic skirt into a line skirt. Block adult sleeve block and trouser block. The skirt and trouser block can be used for adult as well as for child garment. But the child body does not have waist line. Curve like adult body. So in child skirt and trouser block. The front is kept with darts and elastic is added at the block to give a proper fitting. Second Step- Adaption of basic drafting to the required Design-
- 2. After making the basic drafting these are adapted to the particular design for eg. Different type of sleeve different type of body are made by adopting the drafting of basic skirt. Two methods are used to adopt the basic drafting to the required design. Slash & spread Method- This method is use to adopt basic drafting to the design consisting of gathers, flares, pleats & tucks etc. same eg. Are given as follows. I. In the puff sleeves gathers are these on top as well as on bottom. So the plain sleeve slashed from top as well as bottom and adopted to puff sleeves. II. Bishop sleeve gathers are only at the puff edge. Therefore it is slashed and spread and spread from bottom only . III. In leg O Mutton Sleeve gathers are only when at the top of the sleeve. So the sleeve kept is splashed and spread to adapt it to leg o mutton sleeve. IV. For pleats and tucks the position of tuck and pleats is slashed and spread from the area of making the designed variation. Third Step- Combination of different types of bodies, skirts, sleeves and collar to create design of the garment. Different types of bodies, skirts, sleeves and collars can be combined to create the following, for example: 1. Design has low waisted bodies, ruffle sleeves, Chinese collar, tired skirts. 2. This design has princess line, bodies belt, sleeve are made exactly in the same way as flare. 3. Sleeve but from the 3/4th sleeve and not the short sleeve. 4. Thus a designer particular garment analysis the various design features gets the basic drafting of the adopted to design analysis with the help of knowledge of drafting. References-
