Every Sunday, the narrator would feed their dog Chinkee, who was kept near their house with other farm animals like chickens, ducks, and turkeys. One day, while feeding Chinkee, a turkey approached the narrator closely, likely hoping for food scraps. When the narrator walked away, the turkey began chasing them aggressively. The narrator ran away in fear but the turkey caught up and bit their leg. The narrator climbed onto a table and called for help from their dad, who came and scared the turkey away. From then on, the narrator was afraid of turkeys and other poultry.
