The Norwegian Centre for E-Health Research was established on January 1, 2016, to support research and analysis in e-health, telemedicine, and mobile health. The center, located in Tromsø, comprises over 60 employees, including 30 PhDs, focusing on major projects like 'one citizen – one health record' and modernization of electronic health records. The center aims to enhance access to patient information and digital services while ensuring that all research caters to national knowledge needs.
