BISS iPAD PILOT PROGRAM: CIRCULATION POLICY
The Elementary Library-Media Center is starting an iPad pilot program through the
circulation of 6 wireless iPad2 devices for circulation to current BISS faculty for use
in the classroom only

1. Eligibility

   • iPads can be checked out from the Elementary School Library-Media Center
only by faculty members with a current School ID card, who maintain a valid
       library account in good standing.

   • The iPad Loan Agreement must be read and signed each time an iPad is
borrowed. Under no circumstances will a user be allowed to check out an iPad
       for another person.

2. Loan period

   • iPads must be checked out up and dropped off during regular school hours at
       the elementary library media desk.

   • The loan period is for a maximum of two consecutive periods.

   • iPads are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The Library-Media
Center cannot guarantee that an iPad will be available.

   • All iPads must be returned directly to the library staff at the Elementary
Library desk. Please do not return them to any other location or place them on
top the circulation desk without supervision.

   • iPads will not be available for checkout during lunch and break periods and
can be used by students at the library.

3. Borrowers responsibilities

   • iPads will be recorded on the borrower’s library record.

   • The working condition of the iPad will be assessed before checkout and upon
its return. Users are responsible for damage to and/or loss or theft of loaned
units. Users are required to report any problems experienced with the iPad
       during their borrowing period.
• Power cords and adapters are not available for loan.

• Never leave the equipment unattended while it is checked out to you!

• All files should be stored on external storage i.e. a flash drive, email, etc. prior
to the return of the equipment to the circulation desk.

• The Library-Media Center does not assume any responsibility for files stored
on the iPad or the recovery of files accidentally left on the hard iPad after the
    iPad has been returned.

• Students and Faculty members are not allowed to load extra software apps on
the iPads. If there are specific apps teachers want to be downloaded on the
iPads, they need to send a request to the library. The Library-Media Center
will synchronize the iPads through a BISS iTunes account so that they contain
    the Apps requested by teachers.

• All use of the equipment must comply with BISS Acceptable use policy.

• The policies above and the number and type of equipment are subject to
    change.
