This document discusses Bloom's Taxonomy, which was created by American educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom in 1956 to promote higher-order thinking in education. Bloom's Taxonomy classifies thinking skills from lower to higher order: remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. It is used in classrooms to encourage questioning, reflection, and collaboration through activities linked to learning goals. Bloom's Taxonomy also informs skills development in the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence by promoting literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and decision making.
