Emotion Verbs  Adjectives
• There are many verbs about emotions or
feelings e.g.
excite
interest
amaze
irritate
horrify
• You can change these to make adjectives.
-ing and –ed pairs
These are pairs of adjectives you can make from verbs …
worrying worried
interesting interested
amazing amazed
irritating irritated
horrifying horrified

What’s the difference?
When we talk about emotions or feelings,
we have:
• The person talking or thing you see
and
• The person listening or watching
The thing you see/person talking
• Us –ing
The circus show was amazing.

The person watching/listening
• How does the person feel?
• Use –ed
