- 2. Purpose of Research- To determine whether commuter and resident students in the Sport and Recreation Management major would be in favor of building a recreation center and if athletic teams should be allowed to utilize the facilities for practices and games.
- 4. Are Sport and Recreation majors in favor of a new rec center being built on campus at Keystone College?
- 5. Is the exercise equipment in Gambal Athletic Center unsatisfactory?
- 6. Would an improved athletic facility draw more prospective students to enroll at Keystone College?
- 7. Supporting LiteratureAn article in Building and Construction Magazine did a study regarding up to date recreation centers written by Dave Barista. It basically said that small and large colleges and universities alike are replacing older physical education and recreation centers and replacing them with state of the art facilities. Some are even going to such extremes as to contain saunas, spas, trainers, tanning salons, and even pools with table service. The research in the article found that recreation facilities aren’t the most sought after resource on the campus but is middle of the road and can certainly have an effect on incoming students as well as retention from year to year.Dave Barista. - 10. All data for this study will be analyzed utilizing Microsoft Excel Data Analysis Package. Data will be reported utilizing Inferential and Descriptive Statistics in order to generalize to the population.
