BUSSINESS ANALYTICS ASSIGNMENT-1
NAME: Mohammad Yaseen Dar
REG: 11715830
SEC: Q1747, GROUP: 01
I have taken the data from below Website data.gov.in related to Road Accidents from 1960-
1991, in which number of Accidents, People Killed and People Injured is given.
https://visualize.data.gov.in/?inst=521022e7-d9f4-4ca7-9c16-bb04886efd36
The first thing needed in this assignment is to download the data from Visualization.data.gov.in cited
above in the snapshot ,after downloading and converting the data in the excel work Sheet we need to
perform some of the operations as required for the assignment .
The required procedure and the manipilation of data is written below.
Below is file imported in R studio which first we have to download from Data. Gov.in.then
click on import datasheet and clikc on excel file
1. CHANGE
LINE PLOTS
Interpretation
A line plot is a graph that shows frequency of data along a number line. It is best to use a line plot
when comparing certain limited data.
So, the numbers of 30 years from 1960-1991 Accidents in the data are 300 and it is very feasible
to draw the line plot. Line graphs are useful in that they show data variables and trends clearly and
help us make predictions about the results of data not yet included. There was a decline in killed
people in accidents between 100-200, but there after the line shows same trend.
POINT PLOT
Interpretation:
A point-to-point graph, also called a line graph, is a pictorial rendition of data in which specific
values of a function are plotted as dots on a coordinate plane. Adjacent pairs of dots are connected
by straight lines.
It also shows maximum number of people killed from accidents 100-200 and after that line plot
shows normal dots which reflects accidents and people killed.
2. CORRELATION
SCATTERED PLOT
Interpretation:
Scatter plots are used to plot the data points on a horizontal and a vertical axis in the attempt to show
how much one variable is affected by another. Each row in the data table is represented by a maker
whose position depends on its values in the columns set in the diagram.
The above graph shows strong positive correlation between accidents and people killed. As the number
of accidents the number of people also increases in the same direction. Though there was a fluctuation
between 100-150 but rest shows very strong positive relation between Road accidents and People
Killed
3. DISTRIBUTION
BOXPLOT
Interpretation
A boxplot splits the data set into quartiles. The body of the boxplot consists of a "box" (hence, the
name), which goes from the first quartile (Q1) to the third quartile (Q3).
Most of the observations are on the high end of the scale, so the distribution is upwards.
The interquartile range is indicated by the length of the box, which is 18 minus 10 or 8. And the
median is indicated by the horizontal line running through the bottom of the box, So the median
is about 24.
4. RANKING
BAR PLOT
Interpretation
Bar chart or bar graph is a chart or graph that presents categorical data with rectangular bars with
heights or lengths of proportional to the values that they represent. The bars can be plotted
vertically or horizontally.
Talking about above graph it shows that the maximum number of people were injured in 1980-
1990 and the number of people injured is between 110 to above 200. Initially there is a gradual
increase in accidents and people injured as well.
HISTOGRAM
A histogram is a plot that lets you discover, and show, the underlying frequency distribution (shape) of a
set of continuous data. This allows the inspection of the data for its underlying distribution (e.g., normal
distribution), outliers, skewness, etc.
INTERPRETATION:
The above histogram shows that the skewness curve of the data is more skewed towards right.
Form 150 till 300 number of accidents the curve has less skewness more the skewness means more
number of accidents and less the skewness means lesser number of accidents. In between 100-150
on x- axis the curve is more skewed which means most of people killed.
5. COMPOSITION:
Pie Chart
The above pie chart shows the representation of people killed in road accidents
