Editor's Notes

  • #3: 6 graduate and professional schools and 4 undergraduate schools/colleges: law, medical, divinity, business, education, college of arts and sciences
  • #4: I am a firm believer in the idea that a universities mission says a lot about where emphasis and resources are placed. Let me preface and note that I had to do quite a bit of digging to find the mission of the university and expected nothing more than what I found—a large emphasis on research and the dissemenation of knowledge and knowledge acquisition as opposed to developing and molding students—i.e the whole student. Such language is missing from this statement.
  • #6: The medical school is by far the largest employer of staff at the university; nearly 17 k employed there and only approx 4k employed at university central.
