Hypothyroidism can interfere with the reproductive system in dogs by causing infertility in females through disrupted oocyte maturation, prolonged inter-estrus intervals, absence of heat cycles, and repeated pseudo-pregnancies. In males, hypothyroidism may result in poor libido, low quality semen, and azoospermia, where there are no sperm cells in the ejaculate.
