Catherine fell in love with the Governor of the city and insisted on an early wedding. However, when they arrived at the church for the ceremony, they were informed that war was approaching. The Governor postponed the wedding to prepare for the war. During the war, the Governor was tragically killed. Catherine was left devastated, having to arrange a funeral for her beloved instead of celebrating their marriage.
