The CC MOOC project explored collaborative learning and research among diverse participants in the fall 2012 course on the future of higher education. It identified challenges such as low social presence and information overload while emphasizing the importance of networks of practice and personal learning networks for effective MOOC participation. The project involved over 100 participants from various academic and technical backgrounds and fostered discussions on faculty development and interdisciplinary research.

- 20. THE CCMOOC PROJECT We explored MOOCs as co-learners and co-researchers in a “local chapter” or “study group” for the fall 2012 “Current/Future State of Higher Education” MOOC. Through the “Cultivating Change Community” blogging site, we engaged an extended community of participants with a diversity of academic backgrounds, institutional roles, technological skills, and engagement levels (see http://z.umn.edu/ccmooc/)
