- 16. INSTRUCTION: Write and answer the questions in the manila paper and post it on the board. You’ll only have 5 minutes to answer it.
- 17. Materials Needed: ¼ sheet of Paper Scissor Match
- 18. Procedure: 1. Using the scissor, cut the ¼ sheet of paper into smaller pieces. Observe what happens. 2. Lit up the match. Observe what happens.

- 21. Physical change A physical change alters the form of a substance, but does not change it to another substance. It changes shape or size. It dissolves. It changes phase (freezes, boils, evaporates, condenses) Example: Making Orange Juice
- 22. Physical changes occur when matter changes its property but not its chemical nature. Physical property changes could include a change in: texture, shape, size, color, odor, volume, mass, weight, and density.

- 29. Chemical Change Chemical changes are changes matter undergoes when it becomes new or different matter. It burns. Temperature changes without heating/cooling. It bubbles (makes a gas). It changes color. It forms a precipitate.
- 30. When a substance undergoes a chemical change, it is changed into a different substance with different properties. To identify a chemical change look for signs such as color change, bubbling and fizzing, light production, smoke, and presence of heat. Example: Baking a Cake
- 31. If a chemical reaction requires thermal energy before it can occur, then you say that the reaction is endothermic reactions. However, chemical reactions that produce heat and release it to the surroundings are called exothermic reactions.
