This document summarizes Dr. Foo KoongHean's research on proposed Chinese thinking patterns and errors. It is based on the author's experience in therapy with Chinese clients, feedback from other therapists, and a review of literature. It identifies several common attitudes and beliefs among Chinese populations, such as viewing life events as outside one's control, unrealistic expectations around education and family, and prioritizing saving face.
