- 4. • The objects or materials we use in our day-to day life is called as Matter • Even the materials we use doesn't look similar but few characteristics of them will be similar
- 5. We can observe that materials are in different forms in their shape, color, brightness, solubility Experiment •Take some chalk powder. Dip your finger in it and sprinkle slowly over a plane glass. •Observe these minute pieces carefully through a convex lens.

- 11. States of Matter Solid Liquid Gas There are three types of states of matter
- 12. •Solid objects have a specific size and shape. •Solid materials can be poured into a pile. SOLIDS Example : stone, iron etc
- 13. •Particles can slide over each other and move freely within a given frame. •They have no specific shape. Liquids Example : water, milk etc
- 14. Gases •Gases have no specific shape and size. •Gas particles move independently. Example : air, smoke etc
