Editor's Notes

  • #3: There is no standard set of terminology yet in the market place
  • #4: Unclear how to start implementing cloud computing Incapable to analyze and manage the impact of cloud computing on ITSM, governance and information security
  • #5: Vendor neutral approach Although vendor-specific Certification is important, and ITpreneurs very much supports this, it’s impossible to take a “neutral” position if all training includes a specific technology solution. A standardized, baseline understanding needs to be developed first, before a professional specializes in a specific domain.
  • #7: ING - banking, insurance and asset-management 40 countries, 85 million customers 105,000 employees, EUR1,261 trillion in assets ING’s vision is to be the preferred bank for our customers. This means: First choice for all their banking and financial needs Exceeding expectations every time, so that they will recommend us to others Trusted as their primary bank for managing their financial future
  • #9: What made ING successful is that they understood that, in order to adopt the cloud successfully, the whole organization had to change. Its success lies in the fact that ING did not treat the change into the cloud as an IT-only issue. For that purpose ING initiated a large-scale awareness and education campaign around their cloud initiative. The steps: Kick off message by CIO Internal awareness campaign Training & certification Virtual simulation The complete program was rolled out over a period of several months and has contributed to a rapid cloud understanding and acceptance by the IT workforce and business users.
  • #12: Larger than just the IT department Going into the cloud is a means to an end: it can help organizations to reduce costs and become more agile. To fully take advantage from cloud computing, organizations should make certain that both IT and the business have a common understanding of the goal, expectations and roadmap. As all existing cloud trainings in the market have a technical focus, aiming at IT specialists, our certification focuses on a much wider audience.
  • #13: The program that addresses the need for fundamental-level domain knowledge within organizations that are involved with virtualization and cloud computing.
