What is cloud
computing?
•
•
Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of IT
resources over the Internet with pay-as-you-go pricing
Instead of buying, owning, and maintaining physical
data centers and servers, you can access technology
services, such as computing power, storage, and
databases, on an as-needed basis from a cloud
provider like Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Who is using
cloud computing?
•
•
Organizations of every type, size, and industry
are using the cloud for a wide variety of use cases,
such as data backup, disaster recovery, email,
virtual desktops, software development and testing,
big data analytics, and customer-facing web
applications.
For example, healthcare companies are using the
cloud to develop more personalized treatments for
patients. Financial services companies are using
the cloud to power real-time fraud detection and
prevention. And video game makers are using the
cloud to deliver online games to millions of players
around the world.

Cloud Computing can be utilized with lesser
cost when compared to T
raditional IT set up
Once you're on the cloud, easy access to
your company's data will save time and
money in project startups. And, for those
who are worried that they'll end up paying
for features that they neither need nor
want, most cloud-computing services are
pay as you go. This means that if you don't
take advantage of what the cloud has to
offer, then at least you won't have to be
dropping money on it.
Security
•
•
Many organizations have security concerns
when it comes to adopting a cloud-
computing solution
after all, when files, programs, and other
data aren't kept securely onsite, how can
you know that they are being protected? If
you can remotely access your data, then
what's stopping a cybercriminal from doing
the same thing? Well, quite a bit, actually.
.
Like we mentioned in previous slides there are much more benefits with cloud
computing, We can save cost, Quicker deployments, Security, Some of the
responsibility is transferred to a 3rd party Etc.
We will Discuss about the Cloud deployment models in the upcoming slides
T
ypes of cloud computing
•
•
•
•
The three main types of cloud computing include
Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service,
and Software as a Service. Each type of cloud
computing provides different levels of control,
flexibility, and management so that you can select
the right set of services for your needs.
IaaS
PaaS
SaaS
Infrastructure as a
Service (IaaS)
• IaaS contains the basic building
blocks for cloud IT. It typically
provides access to networking
features, computers (virtual or on
dedicated hardware), and data
storage space. IaaS gives you the
highest level of flexibility and
management control over your IT
resources. It is most similar to the
existing IT resources with which
many IT departments and
developers are familiar.
Platform as a Service
(PaaS)
• P
aaS removes the need for you to
manage underlying infrastructure
(usually hardware and operating
systems), and allows you to focus
on the deployment and management
of your applications. This helps
you be more efficient as you don’t
need to worry about resource
procurement, capacity planning,
software maintenance, patching,
or any of the other undifferentiated
heavy lifting involved in running
your application.
Software as a Service
(SaaS)
• SaaS provides you with a complete
product that is run and managed by
the service provider. In most cases,
people referring to SaaS are
referring to end-user applications
(such as web-based email). With a
SaaS offering, you don’t have to
think about how the service is
maintained or how the underlying
infrastructure is managed. You
only need to think about how you
will use that particular software.
Benefits to
MSMEs
Why cloud computing is the gateway to industry
4.0 for Indian small businesses?
Cloud Computing in Industry 4.0
With Industry 4.0 taking a firm grip on global commerce, adaptation within the SME sector is not far
behind
Enterprises are undergoing paradigm shifts in operations, employing new technologies, and as a result,
how they are doing business.
Cloud computation is one such means which is fast heralding the digitisation of industries the world over
Commonly employed in large organisations, SMEs also have joined the bandwagon by adopting the cloud
technology which makes operations more mobile and accessible for a team
Not only does it win points on easy adaptability, but also on product versatility.
Cloud Computing in Industry 4.0
Cloud technology has been a great
equaliser in the accessibility of data.
Now instead of offline storage kept
under lock and key and access subject to
availability of person storing data, it
is available to all relevant stakeholders
at any given point in time and at any
place.
SMEs are increasingly shifting to more
and more features available on the
cloud, from HRMS systems to CRM,
accounting, salesforce automation and
even design.
Other than simplifying collaboration
and teamwork, cloud computation also
economises operations for the often cash
strapped SMEs by offering SaaS
applications which are available to
SMEs on the go and without any
massive investment costs at their end.
Moreover, these are highly
customisable applications which can be
modified as per one’s requirements,
from the number of users to the
features available, these applications
can be maximised and upgraded along
with the growing needs of the company.
This allows an SME to turn its CAPEX
into OPEX by paying nominal amounts
for reaping the massive dividends of
cloud technology.

Thank You 
