CloudsBy Isobelle
How clouds are madeWater droplets float into the sky, they hang in the atmosphere and eventually they find dirt and dust particles to cling to. Then they create a cloud.Dirt particlesForming cloudWater particles Water droplets rising up to the cloud
Different types of cloudsSome clouds are white and fluffy, like the ones you see on a sunny day.Other clouds are gray and stormy, like the ones you see on a rainy day.Clouds can be in all different shapes and sizes, sometimes people can see animals and things in the clouds.
ExperimentIn our science class we did an experiment. Aim: To create a cloud in a bottleWe needed... a pump bottle andMatches. 1. make sure there is 1 cm of water in the bottle. 2. light the match and put some smoke in the bottle. 3. close the lid and squeeze the bottle(really tight) and watch what happens...
...IT MAKES A CLOUD!All the particles in the bottle are spread out until the bottle is squeezed. Then all the particles come together and start creating friction the smoke gives them something to cling to like it does when real clouds are made. Then it becomes a cloud. Cloud in a bottle!
DiagramSmoke, water and air particles in bottle Bottle with cloud in it (smoke, water and air particles)Creating friction gives the particles energy to mix with the dirt particles Bottle with pressure being appliedBottle before it's squeezedSmoke, water and air particles being squeezed together creating friction
CloudsThere are 2 main types of clouds:Layard and convective. They are defined by altitude, the base of the cloud.
