- 5. Revolution • Revolution is the process in which the Earth revolves around the sun in an elliptical orbit. Revolution causes seasons due to the concentration of sunlight.
- 6. Rotation • Rotation is Earth’s spinning on its axis. One rotation takes 24 hours. When the Earth spins on its axis it causes day and night for different parts of the Earth. The axis is tilted at 23.5°. This tilt causes the sun to be concentrated on certain hemispheres on the Earth.
