HISTORY OF COMPENSATORY PROJECTThe concept wasonlydiscussedafter the Second World war.It isfactorized by unequallearningopportunities for the low-incomefamily.In Malaysia, the project for primaryschoolpupilswaslaunched and implementedbetween the year 1975 and 1980.
CHARACTERISTICContainlearning programme for pupilswhowerefacingproblem of shortages in theirsosio-economicfacilities.Learning schemes for all subjectsaccording to the cognitive development of pupils.Scope of studyincludedpedagogy for classroomteaching as well as sosio-economic and political situation outsideclassroom.
OBJECTIVEAppropriate action needed to betaken in the early period such as to carry out diagnostic test and to trace the source of the problem face by the pupils.To determine the explicit objective of the project.Teaching and learning plan should be carefully arranged to overcome the learning problem and to prevent it from reoccurrence.
To modify the curriculum learning materials, method and strategy in teaching and learning activity should be planned for succesfull implementation.Participation of parents in school activities and projects for community development should be arranged.To coordinate with agencies which could render contribution for health and food programs, financial subsidies and other social needs.
