By 1908, Picasso and Braque were regularly visiting each other and developing the cubist style of art. They would geometrically deconstruct objects and reassemble them from multiple perspectives, similar to how Impressionists treated light. By 1910, in analytical cubism their paintings had removed most colors except earth tones, and objects became more abstract and overlapping geometric planes. Later, in synthetic cubism, Picasso and Braque experimented with incorporating real-world objects and materials into their pieces, creating collages using sawdust, newspaper, and oilcloth.
