This presentation will teach how to create your own patterns for stories using the computer

Click on Insert Scroll down Click on Picture Scroll across Click on Clipart

Connect to Web box appears This is telling you that you need to have your computer connected to the internet in order to open the Online Clipart

Click on OK If you do not already have an Internet Explorer window open, this will open one for you If you already have an Internet Explorer window open, that window will be directed from whatever website it is currently open at to Microsoft Office online

Type something to search for (e.g. dog) Click Search

Limiting to Clipart Images Click on Filter by Type on the left-hand column Click on Clipart

Now only Clip Art images appear You want to limit to Clipart because it is usually: - resizable & - easier to edit

Choosing Clipart Click on boxes below pictures you want NOTE: When choosing pictures: Choose ones that fit your needs (obvious) If you need to change/edit image at all, Choose ones outlined in black & mostly solid in color Plus it is best if you do not need to delete/erase a lot of extraneous objects

When finished choosing pictures Click on Download # item(s) Either on top bar Or in left-hand column

Downloading Clipart Microsoft Service Agreement may appear

Microsoft Service Agreement Scroll down Click Accept

Downloading Clipart Download the Microsoft Office Template and Media ActiveX Control for Office Online appears Click Continue

Downloading Clipart Clip Art Download page appears

Downloading Clipart Scroll Down Click Download Now

Downloading Clipart File Download box appears

Downloading Clipart Click Open

Downloading Clipart Completed Clipart picture(s) you downloaded now appears in Insert ClipArt box

Inserting Clipart Into Document Click on ClipArt picture to select it for inserting

Inserting Clipart Into Document Click on top icon on clipart menu bar that appears

Inserting Clipart Completed Now clip art is added (inserted) to Word Document

Editing Clipart First, Resize Image to largest size Make certain document is at 100% viewing, as well Larger pictures are easier to edit Document viewing size affects size of picture when you copy & paste into Paint

Editing Clipart Click on Edit Scroll down Click on Copy

Editing Clipart Open Paint Click Edit Scroll down Click Paste

Editing Clipart Picture now appears in Paint At this point, you can edit picture using Paint’s many tools

Saving Edited Clipart Click on File Click on Save As

Saving Edited Clipart Save As box appears

Saving Edited Clipart Click Save in: Choose your Agency’s Server You do not want to save to My Pictures. That saves to the C:\ of that computer only. Saving to your agency’s server makes picture available on any computer logged in as your agency.

Saving Edited Clipart For File name: Type a name for the Clipart Click Save

Inserting Edited Clipart Into Word Click on Insert Scroll down Click on Picture Scroll across Click on From File

Inserting Edited Clipart Into Word Insert Picture box appears

Inserting Edited Clipart Into Word Click Look In: Click on your Agency’s server

Inserting Edited Clipart Into Word Click through folders to your picture Click on Picture Click Insert

Inserting Edited Clipart Completed Edited picture now appears in word beside the original

Editing Clipart in Word You can do further edits in Word Right-Click on Picture Scroll to Edit Picture Left-Click Edit Picture

Editing Clipart in Word Edit Picture window opens

Editing Clipart in Word You can use the Drawing Toolbar to: Add lines Word has some special line features not available in Paint Add shapes Word has some autoshapes not available in Paint

Editing Clipart in Word You can also add WordArt to pictures Click on Insert Click on Picture Scroll across Click on WordArt

Editing Clipart Completed When finished editing in Word Click Close Picture Edited picture now appears in Word

Repeat Above Steps Repeat choosing, downloading, editing clipart for all necessary pieces for Flannel Board

Completed Flannel Board Resize all pictures to sizes desired for Flannel board Save Document Email Graphic Arts Sending document as an attachment Cut-out completed pieces Add magnets or velcro to backs
